Save the environment and business through design, 「Support project for the development of cyclic design products」
- DCB supports the development of upcycling products in which discarded products are reborn as high value-added products with both aesthetic and functionality.
- Recruitment of design companies with creative ideas and technologies through the "Support Project for the Development of Recycling Design Products"
DCB will recruit design companies with creative ideas and technologies to support the Support Project for the Development of Recycling Design Products.
The Busan Metropolitan Government and DCB are trying to lay the foundation for the recycling industry and create an eco-friendly culture by supporting companies through the development of 'upcycling' products in this project.
Upcycle is a combination of upgrade and recycling, which means creating a product or work by adding new ideas and designs using waste. It attracts attention in various fields such as art, fashion, and miscellaneous goods and gradually expands its market size by influencing the entire industry.
This project is the only project in Busan that supports all stages of upcycling product development. DCB has developed more than 90 kinds of products and created more than 60 jobs over the past eight years from 2013.
Kim Eun-myung, head of the design promotion team, said, “Even discarded objects can create high value-added products if design and practicality are added. We will continue to support Busan design companies in expanding the market by developing upcycling products with completeness and popularity.”
Any Busan-based design company with creative ideas and technologies can apply. Applications are available for visitation by Friday, June 4.
