2021 International Busan Design Award (idba),
begins their preliminary online application

Design Council Busan's preliminary online application for the 2021 International Busan Design Awards (ibda) began on February 5.

Entrants can submit their work, which has no specific subject in IBDA under five entry fields: Product Design, Communication Design, Craft, Environmental Design, Fashion Design. The total prize money is 44.4 million won, and the grand prize winner will get a certificate of award, and 15 million won as the prize money.

Applications will be accepted through the official website(https://adp.dcb.or.kr/) from May 7th. After being selected from the initial screening on May 17th, you have to submit the actual work to the DCB exhibit room located on the first floor of DCB by May 31st. The awards ceremony and award-winning exhibition will be held at the Busan Design Week venue (BEXCO's second exhibition hall) on June 17.

But the competition doestn’t end as the competition. The submitted design ideas can be promoted and sold on the "Asian Design Platform (ADP)," a design resource exchange platform run by DCB for realization and commercialization. Winners of the main prize and corporate winners will receive professional consulting and support for intellectual property rights applications to protect intellectual property rights. If a company wins the award, they will receive additional points when participating in various projects carried out by DCB and be entitled to use the IBDA certification mark on their winning work/product.

Dr. Kang, Kyung-tae, the president of Design Council Busan said, “I hope that International Busan Design Awards will be established as a regular international design festival, and Busan will grow into a global lifestyle city based on design and strengthen its status as an Asian design hub city.”
