DCB held an opening ceremony for world first customized smart service store for men’s suit.
- DCB establish a production system based on men's attire mass-customization with Parkland.
- Busan Parkland Bugok and Banyeo Branch demonstrated a customized smart store.
- It also operates customized services for stylists to visit and place customers want driving Taylor Car.
Design Council Busan held a pilot store for Customized Men's Attire Smart Service on the 26th and started a pilot operation (Operator: Parkland).
Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Jung Seung-il, Deputy Mayor of Economy Park Sung-hoon of Busan Metropolitan City, Dr. Kang, Kyung-tae, the president of DCB, Parkland CEO Park Myung-kyu and heads of related associations attended the opening ceremony held at Parkland Busan Banyeo branch, a pilot store for Customized Men's Attire Smart Service.
The purpose of the men's suit mass-customization-based production system and pilot store operation project is to strengthen the clothing industry's competitiveness by establishing a smart manufacturing-sales business system of individual suit based on mass-customization as part of the textile fashion revitalization project.
Mass-customization is a combination of Mass and Customization. It mean Production methods that address diverse personal customer demands and also benefit from cost savings through mass production.
The importance of mass custom production is growing as product development has to be done in a short period as the demand of customers varies, and the life cycle of products is shortened. DCB realizes mass-customized production by introducing cutting-edge technologies in the design and production stages, breaking away from the existing "ㅡMonozkuri" method (manufacturing culture based on craftsmanship) an individual order, design, production, and process.
Also, DCB, in cooperation with Parkland, the flagship brand of the domestic men's clothing market, established a smart factory that can be mass-curated by unifying the production process by installing the latest CAD and automatic foundation CAM system that enables automatic pattern modification and big data accumulated through Parkland's sales of 14 million suits.
In addition to offline trial stores, the company also operates customized services for stylists to visit driving Taylor Car at the time and place customers want, which will reduce the time and cost from the previous 14 days to three days from the production of finished products that can receive customers.
Ma Jung-Hoon, Head of Textile and Fashion Team, said “We will secure global leadership to actively respond to the Fourth Industrial Revolution of the customized clothing production system by establishing a personalized suit business model. By introducing a new business model, we will create new jobs in the textile and fashion industries and promote the linked initiatives to explore the domestic sewing and fashion industries' future.”
